I would like to argue against the consensus economic approaches, views and perspectives. I disagree with the way our economic society is run today.
Would I be marked down for having a thesis against what I am taught in class?
How can you advise me to tackle this dissertation well?
The key here is to understand who is marking your dissertation and what their history is on the matter.
With your topic look at the faculty and see who has expertise in these areas and who would mark it (alternatively just ask a friendly Prof who will tell you). Then try and see their histry of marking in this area (for example the library will normally have old dissertations kept there). In addition ask for their opinion on other dissertations found in the library from this prof, then go have a look at these to see what they value and don't.
Having come from a family with a lecturer in it most lecturers generally like unusual dissertations as they get bored marking the same things over and over again, it's a good way to make it stand out from the crowd.
